TEACHING ENGLISH IN PORTUGAL

Teaching English in Portugal is a good option for recently qualified teachers. There are demand for EFL teachers, particularly in places like Braga, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon and Porto. Business English and young learners are most in-demand in EFL market sectors.

To teach English in Portugal you just need a degree and a TEFL certificate. The majority of teachers work on a part-time, which means you can work for several schools. You may also take some private tuition. The cost of living is low, which means that you will financially have a comfortable life in Portugal.

You should start looking for teaching job in the summer. As soon as June starts, you have to keep your eyes open and most contracts are signed in late August. Another great time is in December/January. This is perfect timing if you are already in Portugal and want to make some extra cash.
